The Role of Motherhood in the History of Salvation according to Pavel Evdokimov

The thesis is dealing with a topic of a motherhood in the history of salvation in the books of Pavel Evdokimov Woman and the salvation of the World and The Sacrament of Love. In the first part of the thesis is seen under the perspective of author the human being in the complex picture of a God's plan with the specific for the role of women in it. The main part of the work than is studying the role of motherhood of woman as a key vocation, which is possible to life in the physical form (in a marriage) or in a spiritual form (in a consecrated life). The last but one part emphasises the ideal, which Pavel Evdokimov sees in the model of Virgin Mary and the las chapter aims to reflect the role of motherhood and its importance for situation of nowadays woman. Development of the iconography of the Holy Women at the Empty Tomb (Visitatio Sepulchri) in light of the medieval Church music-drama Abstract The work connects the iconography of the Visitatio Sepulchri theme in the visual art with the same motive in the medieval Church music-drama, also known as Quem quaeritis, which is the cradle of the Western theatre. As a result, the work puts to light several schemes in the visual art which can be understood only with reference to the drama, as scenes from a play. Additionally, several typical space arrangements are identified. The work also looks deeper into the participation of women in those plays as authors, singers and actors, which is still much less known than it should be by the general public. Case studies are given, such as how it must have looked at the cathedral of Essen. Geography-wise, since the Visitatio Sepulchri belongs to the Latin liturgy, naturally the focus is there, while the Greek, Coptic and Armenian worlds are observed in passing with the fascinated eyes of a foreigner, the exception being the plays brought to the Kingdom of Jerusalem in the 12th century by the Augustine canons. The thesis deals with theoretical solutions and spirituality of devoted widowhood. It observes the evolution of devoted widowhood from ancient Israel to the present. It describes restoring of a status of devoted widows in the Pilsen Diocese. It records Marie Venta´s experience on her way towards inner prayer and devoted life. It introduces inner prayer according to St. Theresa´s of Avila teaching. It describes the courses and schools that accept inner prayer as a precious pastoral tool. It shows inner prayer as an essential expression and service of devoted widowhood.

CONGREGATION OF SCHOLASTIC SISTERS OF III. REGULATED MONASTIC ORDER OF ST. FRANCIS This diploma thesis is focused on the development of the Congregation from its establishment to the present. I deal with the phenomenon of devoted life, spiritual motives and social cause through the history. I also give an attention to the nineteenth century, which was a great period of social changes and to the origin of woman's monastic orders and congregations as an answer to the actual requirements. The aim of the core section of the thesis is to describe the history of Congregation of St. Francis's school sisters from its beginnings in Graz to the separate branch in Bohemia. I primarily focus on the life of Czech province and its significant personalities, especially sister Eliska Pretschnerová and her beatification process. The final part of the work deals with sister's activities in the present time. I reflect the causes of the declining number of members as well as other options of existence of the Congregation.
